if the preview is generated by dA why adding one? I think that it's ok to leave the preview image only for the deviations really needing it.

yes, i have my own personal sig for my artwork that i use, just like the bar on the side of the lit option. it is an important peice as well because i add pictures repersenting my poems sometimes, and this dosent allow me to do that.

That makes some sense, but PNG files with transparency look horrible when dA makes the thumb. All the transparent areas turn black. It seems best to leave it up to the deviant.

But that's just my two cents.

I would personally go with No for everything but files (obviously), the literature/poetry galleries and for animated gifs.

I'm not sure why saying Click me for the full view is such a bad thing. All it would do is add a count to the full view rather than the view. But the full view count is going away so I don't see the harm there.

The people who hide things with a different preview image could be a problem though. I haven't seen that happen, but it should be taken care of.

I just feel that it's best to leave the art to the decision of the deviant. If they want to make a different preview image then why not? I would also like to see on option to add a preview image to a deviation that originally didn't have one.

I also just noticed that if I submit a PSD file, dA generates a preview for that and clicking the download link gives me a JPEG of the file, not the original PSD file.

Is that a mistake, or is it supposed to make loading PSD files as deviations easier? It doesn't make much sense to me since it's pretty easy to save a JPEG from the PSD file.
