What a drama!

Journal Entry: Sat Sep 30, 2006, 2:20 PM
So we arrive at IKEA today and first head in to the Garden shop next door then back to the car for the couch fabric and in to IKEA we go. We take a number and sit down and wait to be called by customer service, in the meantime my husband takes his wallet out of his pocket and places it next to him.

When we get up to be called my husband forgets to take the wallet so while we stand there he notices "wait where is my wallet?". So next he is looking for it and there is these people who had sat down right after us and i noticed the guy taking a wallet in and out of his pants pocket a few times and so i watched him heavily and no sooner do i turn my head away he is dashing for the door.

I tell this to my husband and by this point the manager woman came downstairs and argued with us that the nice yellowing of our couch is normal and caused by sun, yea yea whatever. Long story on this part shorter, they would only give us 150 euros towards getting new fabric , i said it's bullshit, but would think on it.

After we went outside and then my husband to lost and found and then my husband cancelled his cc and bank card.

After all of this we went upstairs and spoke to the "couch master" and she told us she never heard of such yellow issues and that is definately not normal. ;)

Then after speaking with her we headed back downstairs and I told the people that I would just keep the fabric I have now. We then got our fabric back and headed outside where I asked my husband to call his friend to see if there was a citibank near so i could grab out cash to shop at ikea since we had cancelled his cards and so we would not have to make another soon trip to ikea.

Well huge ass story shorter, it's a good thing we did this because after we got money and shopped at ikea we went outside and my husbands phone rang, police found his wallet , apparently whoever took it just threw it in the parkinglot of ikea and some nice soul found it and drove it to police.

All was inside the wallet still. o_O

and least it all ended in a good way, when i first started reading this i thought that it was all going to end up in a horrible mess.

your husband was lucky that everything was still there, it would have been such a pain to have to get everything replaced.

one of their best customers having issues with them? they should do something ;)

Good thing that you found the wallet ( I would dislike to have to recreate my ID card, driving license etc...)

Nice that you got it back with all safe inside. Maybe the guy panicked and through it aside hoping you wouldn't call the police.

The kind of pants I usually wear, my wallet falls out fairly frequently. Fortunately I've never lost it more than a few minutes. I've had several times where I go 'Oh shoot.' and have to go backtracking for it(heck, did that today). A few times though I've gone to leave somewhere not knowing it's fallen out and someone stops me before I do. Makes you feel good that there are still good people in this world.
